Declaration of Faith

The programs and activities governing the form of worship and ministry of the Church shall be based upon and at all times be consistent with the following declaration of faith.

a. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the fully inspired Word of God, and the supreme rule of faith and practice

b. We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

c. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, became flesh as truly human, yet without sin, so that by His sacrificial death He might be the mediator between God and man, and by whom alone men might be saved. He ascended into heaven, where he sits at God’s right-hand interceding for us.

d. We believe that God created man in His image, that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of sin, which is physical and spiritual death and that all people inherit a sinful nature involving personal guilt.

e. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice according to the Scriptures, and that all who repent, forsaking their sins and believe in Him alone for salvation are justified before God on the grounds of His shed blood, and obtain forgiveness of their sins, and reconciliation with God and the gift of eternal life.

f. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven and His present position as our High Priest and Advocate before God.

g. We believe in the personal return to earth of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and, to receive unto himself His people, to judge the living and the dead and to reward the redeemed with everlasting life in the kingdom of the Father, whom they will see and enjoy forever and to put an end to sin and Satan and to condemn the lost to eternal damnation.

h. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, (see 1 Corinthians 12:13) empowering and equipping believers for service, with the accompanying gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in the Scriptures. These include ministry gifts ordained by God in the form of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers for the edifying of the Body of Christ for the work of the ministry. (Eph4:11).

i. We believe that the one true Church is the whole company of those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as the Saviour, been redeemed by His blood, regenerated by the Holy spirit and commissioned to proclaim the Gospel to all people everywhere

j. We believe in the doctrine of complete Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of the Holy Spirit commencing with the new birth in Christ.

k. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted two sacraments in the Church: viz: baptism by water and the Holy Communion or the Lords Supper. These indicate by an outward visible sign, the work of an inward spiritual grace in the believer.

l. We believe that Christian Marriage is an ordained covenant that exists between one man and one woman under God for life, and that it is the

proper context for the expression of sexual intimacy between man and woman.

m. We believe in the love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.

Our History

Vision Statement

Gansbaai Family Church is a family of active believers, serving and loving people in need, and standing as a beacon of hope for our growing community.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to make 2025 GFC's best year ever by growing stronger in our Bible based teachings, more joyful in our worship, and deeper in our prayer commitments. We will be more visible in our community, through open air outreach, in our social media presence, and as a welcoming church. Our tangible goals are to grow our membership by 50%, to double our prayer group numbers and to increase our feeding scheme to be weekly. We will review our progress quarterly, and continue to give God all the glory for our successes.

Prayer Meetings

Intercession every Tuesday afternoon at 17:00 at the church. We intercede for the sick, the needy and everybody who needs a touch of God. You are welcome to join us for 45 minutes intercession.
